Boart Longyear EHS&T Global Systems Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Description:

Boart Longyear is looking to hire a new EHS&T Global Systems Manager based out of Salt Lake City, UT. The Global EHS&T Systems Manager works with the Director of EHST to provide support and guidance to the company's regional business units. The role is responsible to develop and implement systems, programs, monitoring of performance with respect to key performance indicators. This person will be managing the strategic direction of our learning management system (BITS-Absorb) and our Global EHS incident and data management system (GEMS-Intelex).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree with industrial emphasis including classes related to EHS, training and regulatory laws and compliance.

  • 3-5 years of Data Analytics, LMS, risk software or training experience

  • Proficient in Articulate, Adobe, Vimeo, VBA, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Understanding of Absorb and Intelex a strong plus

  • 5+ years of field-related experience in the Drilling Services, Mining industry or equivalent experience and certifications in industrial health, safety and training is a strong plus.

  • Experience in training system and program development.

  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel, as required to regional offices, including overnight stays.

  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving history.

  • Exceptional people skills. Able to develop trust-based relationships.

  • Familiarity with business acumen and company deliverables

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and develop our learning management system – BITS

  2. Manage and develop our Global EHS incident and data management system – GEMS

  3. Audit, standardize and improve EHS Leadership KPI reports

  4. Coach and direct regional resources to support global training and development initiatives.

  5. Continue the development Competency Based Training program is our LMS.

  6. Liaison with Regional EHS Managers, Regional Directors, and Business Unit Management to develop regional and BU programs. Utilize subject matter expertise including Division Managers for context creation and edit

  7. Extract, manipulate, analyze, and report EHS data to internal and external constituencies; manage data; prepare and maintain data files; and verify data to ensure data integrity.

  8. Liaison with the regional EHS Systems administrator(s) to ensure company learning management system is fully utilized.

  9. Work with the Global EHST Systems Administrator(s) to develop online content and system management.

  10. Develops and implements processes for linking and analyzing data from a variety of sources; applies statistical techniques to analyze trends.

  11. Regional hubs will be visited by Global EHST Systems Manager to implement plans and facilitate train-the-trainer sessions.

  12. Competency Based Training programs will be monitored for implementation progress. Regional programs will be measured systematically through the Learning Management System.

  13. The Global EHST Systems Manager will support the development of the company’s leadership training programs. Liaison with Human Resources in the development phase will be required.

  14. Implementation and train-the-trainer facilitation of the leadership training will be completed in person per region.

  15. Assessment of regional and business unit training records to ensure compliance with company standards will be required.

  16. Participate in the development, support implementation of Company EHS standards, programs and initiatives to improve EHS performance, culture and employee competencies.

  17. Other duties as assigned by the Global EHS & Training Director.
